GoCar - Cork’s car club - was launched on Friday 19h September by the Republic of Ireland’s Minister for Transport, Noel Dempsey, as one of the city’s European Mobility Week 2008 events. With cars based at City Hall, University College, and Wandseford Quay, members already have a range of locations and types of vehicle to choose from.
In 2007, Richard Armitage Transport Consultancy Ltd., with Ireland-based partner Mendes Ltd., concluded work on the Car Sharing Club Feasibility Study for Cork City Council, Republic of Ireland (see here) The main recommendations of the Study were accepted by the Council, and have now come to fruition.
